Raid loot rules aka the Luck Point System

This is not a DKP system. It may look a lot like one in some respects, but there are some fairly significant differences.

When an item drops the master looter will announce a roll for that item in /raid. If you need that item you need you type /roll. If there are more people doing rolls for that item the FMR addon will look at the result from your roll and add your current LP to it resulting in a final number. The Master Looter will compare those final numbers and give the item to the person with the highest final number.

This means that you can get "lucky" and win an item even with low LP.

The various ways of getting and loosing LP are as follows:
Getting LP:
- You get LP when an epic-quality or better item is won by someone in a 25 man raid.
- You get LP when the raid starts at raid start time. Don't be late or you'll miss them!
- You get LP when the raid ends at raid end time.
- Various miscellaneous bonuses awarded by raid leaders, usually for effort shown during wipes on a progression fight

Losing LP
- You lose LP when you win an epic-quality or better item for your main spec.

LP categories
- LP gains and losses are determined based on the slot the item takes up. Blizzard assigns stats to items based on their so-called slot modifier. The LP system takes this into account and makes items with more stats cost more points to obtain.

The categories are:

Key
Current Tier - ICC 25man
Second Tier - ICC 10man, ToGC 25man
Third Tier - ToC 25, ToGC 10, Ony 10/25, Uld 10/25

200LP: Large (Current Tier Two-Handed Weapon/Chest/Head)
150LP: Medium (Current Tier Legs/Shoulders/Gloves/Mainhand, Second Tier Large)
110LP: Small (Current Tier Trinket/Wrist/Ring/Neck/Cloak/Offhand/Waist, Second Tier Medium)
60LP: Minor (Current Tier Ranged, Second Tier Small, All Third Tier items)

( See also: http://eol.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1960253&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&&gid=3747
for more information regarding this whole thing. )

Other important rules concerning loot:
- The highest need wins. If something falls into loot category A for person X and category B for person Y the person who would lose the most LP according to the category gets the item. The most notable example of this would be hunter ranged weapons.
- Minor upgrades. If something is only a sidegrade or a tiny boost in stats people can request for an item to fall into the minor upgrade category.
If you request this you should be able to prove that the item is a minor upgrade by showing the officers present what it would be replacing.
This is only allowed if nobody disagrees with this assessment. Best-in-slot items and tier tokens in general should never fall into this category.
Also, see above.
- When no one rolls need on an item, people can greed roll on it. Greedrolling is not allowed for main spec use.
Not needrolling an item means you cannot use it for your main spec.
Greed rolls are not meant for RP or vendor purposes either. The people who roll greed should be able to use it for one or more of their offspecs. Priority on greed rolls goes to people who are used in that offspec often.
Getting an item in this way will not cost you any LP. The raid will not gain LP's for this item either.
- There is a maximum of 1000 LP you can accumulate.
- Pick up groups and casual (not part of the usual raid schedule) raids use need/greed, no LP involved.
- Once you rolled, you rolled. You can't pass to someone else, unless your roll was a very obvious mistake: rolling on mail when you're cloth for instance. So be carefull about typing /roll.
- Items should first go to someone using the same armor category as the item.
- Always consider other people's interests when rolling on items, not just your own. What is a nice to have for you can be a must have for someone else. (See above.)
- Gaming the system is not allowed. People should not skip major upgrades just because they want to get the top of the line instead. If something is an upgrade of any significance for you you should needroll on it, end of discussion. Failing to do this may earn you a MMMoD™ or outright guildkick, especially if there is nobody else rolling - there is a fine line between passing on items from the goodness of your heart and farming points because you want the best of the best never mind who else might want that.

There is an officers loot system on top of the LuckPoints
This means that officers can decide that only the Maintank(s) can roll on plate tank drops or only holy priests can roll on cloth healing drops or only people with green/blue gear can roll on certain drops. Or they can decide non-guildies can or cannot roll. They will be fair and they'll think about the progress of the guild as a whole first.
Legendary items will always be officer looted.
The officers rarely use this power as a rule but reserve the right to use it when deemed neccessary.

The LP system is a work-in-progress. As we progress, we may tweak it from time to time. If you have any feedback on the system, please start a thread about it. This is the version of January 7 2009.

There is an addon for managing the Luck Points called FMR enhanced by EoL officers available on the Guild Software Requirements section of the Code of Conduct forum.

Edited, it seems the one item per person per raidnight was still in place. Removed it.
