re: Guild Raid Rules

We raid for fun, but alas, a raid is not a knitting society and thus we need some rules to make sure it runs smooth. Always remember that it should not only be fun for you, but also for the other 24 people in the raid. So think of yourself, but also think of the team.

Raid preparation rules

# You will read up on any bosses that are on our active raiding schedule and the next 3 bosses progression wise. Even if you're not planned in for those fights, you need to be familiar with the tactics.
# You will have your gear properly gemmed and enchanted. This means at least rare quality gems.
# You will bring fitting consumables to all raids. If you use elixirs instead of flasks, you're required to use guardian ánd battle elixirs. Also think about reagents, potions, buff food, drums etcetera.
# You will make sure all your gear is repaired before the raid and you will bring enough money to cover needed repairs during the raid.
# You will have an appropriate talent spec. If the raidleader asks you to respec from your regular spec to another one for the benefit of the raid, you can request your respec costs back from eolbanker by ingame mail.
Your classleader and the raidleader have the right to exclude you from raids if you fail to do any of the above.

Raid starting rules

# signup starts Friday and closes Monday afternoon. They are for an entire week of raiding
# signup period is an entire week, stating which days will be attendable, from the first Wednesday after the signup untill the Wednesday 1 week later.
# open spots in the setup will be filled by the raidplanner or raidleader any way he/she sees fit.
# invites start at 19:00 so people join the raid between 19:00 and 19:15 people enter the instance between 19:15 and 19:25 19:30 everyone is is buffed up and ready to go. (exceptions discussable)
# reserves should be online on their main at 19:15 and ready to fill an open spot until 19:45.
# repairs, potions, buffing materials, and any required consumables should be taken care of before invites start.
#Leaving a going raid for whatever reason, other than the raidleader removing you will incur one SSSoS (tm).

Raiding rules

# listen to and respect your raid leader.
# always stay behind the tank unless otherwise instructed.
# during tactics or bossfights no chat in raid chat or vent.
# During looting no chat in raid chat or vent except for that necesary for the loot-distribution.
# if you have something to add, whisper the raid leader to talk about it.
# being afk without a good reason OR failing to report it to the raid leader will result in disciplinary actions.
# if you have any complaints contact your raid leader.
# NEVER post damage/healing reports unless asked by raid leader.
# join the appropriate channels for your role and class, your classleader will tell you what they are.
# work together with the people in your raid. You are part of a team.
# have fun!

Raid Break Rules
# Everyone is entitled to a raid break every now and then.
# Raid breaks should be announced in the Holiday List forum
# Not signing up for 2 consecutive weeks without having a holiday post will get you a demotion to Limbo.
# You cannot take a long raid break without set end date. If you do, you will be demoted to Limbo after 4 weeks.

Penalties

  • Cancellation within 12 hours of raid start grants to one 1 penalty.
  • Not showing without prior cancellation is worth 3 penalties, which can be lowered by explanation to RL / Officer / in Setup Thread, but only within next 24 hours.
  • Reservist who isn't online on time gains 1 penalty.
  • Leaving a going raid for whatever reason, other than the raidleader removing you incurs 1 penalty.

  • One penalty means someone is not allowed to roll for one raid night in which he or she participates.
  • Initiates' will be able to remove their penalties after promotion to member. Penalties can have great impact on one's trial.
  • Tracking has to be performed by Raid Leader or person designated by him / her. List of penalties will be stored for future use.

Added:

# reserves should be online and ready for an invite between 19:15 and 19:45.

Somehow this one never made it to the actual Code of Conduct when this is the guideline we've been using.

edit: Changed the wording a bit to close a loophole.
