Heya!
I havn't posted anything serious the last months and have been rather quite.
Sorry for that, was sort of busy living....
It's wierd to be living without EoL after months of living with EoL.
Well over an year with EoL. Wouldn't have traded it for anything though.
Had an epic time.
Now then. I just wanted to let you all knwo how I am doing the last few months. And also Eldare recomended to me that I would post something nice.
At the monet I am living in Vietnam as you know.
In Hanoi to be preciece.
And I am having a blast!
It's a completly differant world then the western world.
Wich makes it a great adventure.
Sometimes you stumble upon cultural barriers.
Like I made a very good friend here and am seeing her couple of times a week.
Yen is her name.
And she teaches me Vietnamese and I teach her English.
But she was feeling a bit sad and in front of her door I gave her a very small hug.
Not even a hug, just a bit more then a handshake.
Because I know they are very concious about fysical contact between man and woman.
But a few days later she calls me up and was half in distress and wanted to tell me that she felt bad about that little bit more then a handshake.
Even from that Vietnamese might think that we are a couple and that she is a bad woman.
And thinking she is a bad woman goes far here.
But then again.
Two man walking hand in hand is perfecly oke and normal. Nothing gay about it.
They even hug very very close. When on a motorbike you would say they are a couple.
Same for women, sit on each others lap, or touching in places wher in the west we would only do when a couple.
The contrast between same sex contact en opposite sex contact is immense.
And numerous of those barriers are there.
But in the end it doesn't make it any less fun!!!!!!!!
Learning those things and seeing them so close up, is a great experiance.
When you travel you see glimpses, now that I live here you simply live it.
On the one side it is such an easy country where everything goes, but on the otherside the are as uptight as can be!
One other thing that is amazing is that there are shops really everywhere.
There are no streets with no shops.
Every house has a shop in front of it, everywhere.
In the city on the country side, everywhere.
And you can by everything, litery everything.
Women, pottery, drugs, tv's, food, million dollar houses, and so on.
Two weeks ago, on the otherside of things, it was a great mess though.
It was raining like it only can rain in the tropics for a week straight.
3/4 Of the city completly flooded. Fresh food became scarse. Prices soared.
And in the provinces it was only worse with dykes that gave way.
You really couldn't go anywhere because of the floods.
So everybody was condemded to either swim or stay inside for a week.
In the end about 50 people dead in Hanoi alone. And still people missing after a week.
So sad.
You still see the damage in places.
Muddy streets, empty houses, crap all over in places.
But the last week it has been dry. And sometimes even cold.
Tempratures of only 23 degrees....!
But strangly enough, I myself a hardened Dutchman, find it fresh when it drops to 23 degrees.
But the last two days it is about 27 degrees with clear blue skies all day long.
Still wear sweaters and long pants because it's a bit fresh.
But it is good after the worst flooding in half a century for Vietnam.
In the meanwhile I have found a nice place to live.
On the edge of the city, so only fields and jungle when I look outside.
3 Bedrooms and a big livingroom. Two toilets and showers.
Kitchen, balcony, semi furnished.
For 3 million a month.
OH MY GOD 3 MILLION!!!!!
Not really, about 140 euro!!!
Wich in western terms is insanly cheap for such a nice place.
Oh and for Eldare,
I am not one of those crazy westeners that come here to be an freaking moron.
I am learning hard for my Vietnamese, and can speak it a bit already.
Can have small coversations and order in fluent Vietnamese.
Wich razes eyebrows, so funny sometimes.
This white guy walks up and just spews it out what he wants in a restaurant.
In Old Quarter not so strange but where I live people are exstatic about it hehe.
One other thing Dude, I didn't fuck a single women so far.
On holiday I I just let go and need more then two hands to count them.
But right now I have sort of found a girl. That well...
I like her. And she likes me! Yay!
Don't know where it will lead but oh well.
It it isn't that woman I talked about when in Holland.
She turned out to be a borderliner extrordinaire.
Oh well. But this girl is real proper.
Maybe one day you will meet her.
But sadly the day I can come to Holland is far away.
I need to save up alot of money for tickets to Holland.
And am gonna get started on the CELTA soon.
Wich is a degree for teaching eglish internationaly.
And that is awesome. Means that when I want to go to Japan or China or whatever.
I can just go and set up shop for half a year.
And have a job straight away as teacher.
And what I am planning is to stay in Vietnam for years to come.
And then every year or so, just pack up a small bag and live somewhere for half a year.
And travel extensively around Asia.
But everytime to return to VN.
I love the place!!!
Anyways. Gonna go do something.
See you all around soon I hope.
I am having draw back symptomes from not gaming!!!!
Oh an Liesje and Feli. I l;ooked into shipping my PC to VN. Freaking expensive because of the weight.
So I have to save up money for a new one. And when I come to Holland for a holiday, I will take it along as bagage on the plain.
So sadly for you all, it will be while befor I can come online.... Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
Oh well.
Be safe everyone, and tell me how you are.

Q!!!!
I admire you and everyone else who travels far away from their homes to live in some absolutely different environment from what they are used to.. and the most important - cope with living out there.. maybe bcos I haven't really got out of my puny little country and it all seems like something big n challenging...
I am glad that you are doing fine and omg, havent heard about you (and actually about most others EoLers aswell) for such a long time - its like a whole year soon... and today I remembered my last b-day, that was exactly a year ago.. how u guys sang me the bday song over Vent while raiding in ZA.. u made my day.. it was an awesome gift!
so, take care out there Q and have great time.
Miss ya!
*does the "hey" just for Q*

Hey,
Been a while since I've posted. SO here something new yet nothing new.
DD, your hey always makes my day!
You know that and also indeed congratz on your birthday!
The last weeks have been rather uneventfull.
Just living in a land far away and doing crazy stuff.
Nothing out of the ordinairy I'd say....
A few days ago I went to a bar in the Old Quarter, that's old Hanoi and the main tourist part of the city.
Had a few beers and told the manager no more please still need to drive about 10km back home.
But then he argued me that more beer is good for driving.
And knowing that atleast half the population at any given time is atleast half drunk on their motorbike.
But I stood fast, and said no thanks water please.
But then he played the culture card on me!
Here if the host offers you something, in this particulare the manager, you have to accept and if you don't; you lose face.
And losing face is a major thing in Asia.
So I had to drink, how horrible that I needed to drink the delicious cold beer.....
In the end I ended up 6 beers later on my motorbike home with a malaysian woman on the back.
So as you see, nothing out of the ordinairy....
But most my days I work and save up money for a PC and to decorate my house.
The girl I talked about earlier is still in the picture.
At the moment she is very busy with her studies and she is over at my place about 3/4 times a week and we have a good time.
But she just had a relation with some jerk from Australia and wants to wait a bit before anything happens.
Fair enough I'd say.
He treated her as a given thing, a commodity.
Wich is of course very bad.
But in time we'll be good.
For the rest I see you are the busy guild!
Afthermath still tops, but EoL is clearly the next best thing on the server.
And next to that what is more important; you succesfully survived an expansion!
Wich is maby bigger then server firsts and so on.
When I will have a new PC and internet I will most defenitly log on and see what's happening on your sides.
For now, I'm not up to much.
But I wish you all a good time in WoW and in December.
Have fun and hope to see you around soon.

Hey all!
I wish you all a great new year.
I hope that in the year to come EoL will contineu to flourish!
And that in your RL's you have a freaking great time!
For the rest is going pretty well here. Still having a good time.
Had some bad experiances, but they are to be expected when you are a westerner in VN.
Went to fix my bike with a good friend, Ha, once at the place all went fine untill the guys at the place went mental on Ha.
Now she is a woman with a westerner, in the eyes of many vietnamese that is bad.
They asume that she is a hooker and that I am buying here, regardless of anything.
And they said some really foul things to her in VN.
She got pissed, but in the meanwhile they did fix my flat tire.
When I wanted to pay them they refused and went beserk some more.
And to top it all off they punctured my tire with a screwdriver.
Not much you can do with about 7 angry and narrow minded Vietnamese surrounding you.
So had to get lost and buy a new tire.
Sucked pretty bad.
But things like that don't happen often luckily.
So all in all it's going good!
I'm driving around in this wild wild west traffic with a heartbeat of atleast 150.
Eating food that turns your brownnies to choclate pastea nd places assaults on the toilet bowl.
Seeing besutifull Asian women on every streetcorner and am flirting with them.
And making many people smile with my half assed attempts of talking Vietnamese with them.
But am winning hearts and minds beter then Georgie Bush In Iraq.
So wish you all a found night and a good year to come.
And hope I will be seeing some of you in the summer when I am coming to Europe again.
Q.
