What are your primary roles during a raid? My roles are normally off tank and sometimes Main tank as i let the other tank choose what he wants to do.

Can you tell us about your previous raiding experiences? Toc 10 and Toc 25 all bosses. Icc rep runs.

Can you raid during our raid times? 19:00 to 23:00 on all days, except Saturday. Yes.

How many raids a week are you willing to participate in and can you commit to those raids a couple of days upfront? I will be able to participate in all raid except if something pops up last minute.

What (difficult) achievements do you have that you consider relevant to the application? Why? I don’t really have many difficult Achievements’ as I don’t really farm them. I just stumble across them.

What kind of computer hardware do you use? How many FPS are you getting in Dalaran and (raid) instances? Fraps in Dalaran 30, 25 mans 20-30 depending on the fight.

Do you ever have latency problems? Nope

GENERAL

When did you start playing WoW? Started playing in summer 2008.

What areas do you think you could improve in and why? Focus on 1 character so that I can progress.

PvE, PvP and RP? Which aspect(s) of the game you like better in which descending order and why? PvE as it is more of a challenge. PvP arenas are fun and Rp I have never tried it really.

How often (roughly) do you play WoW? (hours/day) About 6 hours a day and 10 hours in weekends

Do you share your account with anybody? No-never will

What are your previous guilds on this server and reasons for leaving them? Previous guid was warpaint just a guild with a few mates but disbanded. Evolution- They planed a raid but that raid day never came as people never showed.


How do you find gnomes? a) cute, b) evil or c) tasty cute as i am a gnome.

Are you aware that if accepted, your guild master will be a gnome? And no, the previous question has no relevance with this one! Nope. But gnomes rule

Why do you want to join the Echoes of Lordaeron? Because your a guild with progression which is what i would like to do

Here is my lowdown of your character Fartherwho

Gear

A brief overview all seems to be fine, if a little behid the current state our tanks are in. Will definatley need a few improvements before your tanking in the latter end of ICC.

Talents

Not really one for DK Tank talents, but i personally havent raided with many frost DK tanks, its either been blood or unholy, I know Xulgos plays as Unholy, but maybe its just a personal preference. For tanking knowledge im not the person to quote, its Deathbin or Xulgos. I also noticed that you dont have Dual-Specs, which in my opinion is a must have, especially if, like me you change specs as much as you do your underwear.

Raiding Experience

You havent as of yet actually killed a boss in ICC, so i would expect that you brush up on your knowledge of tactics before you enter ICC.
Looks to me like you have cleared ToC 10 and 25 a few times, but not much as your gear would be of a higher standard.

Overall

To me it looks like you have put the effort into improving your character, your proffesions are at a good level and you have bothered to grind your SoH rep, which isnt to hard anymore but we use this as a good measure of your commitment to your character.

Hello Fartherwho,

Thank you for applying to EoL. It's not an easy thing to do. I know this out of my own experience

Please understand that everything that I'll write from now on is not ment to burn you down or insult you at all. My assessment of your character (on paper) is made so you understand what I see in it. I want you to improve your game and as such it is needed to take a good honest look at things.

That being out of the way, here goes:

Gear: Not bad, not awesome. Your idea of gemming and enchanting is allright, though not optimal. It shows you have put time and energy into your character. Heroic dungeon geared, you'll have trouble tanking the later bosses in ICC.

Experience Heroic dungeons, and thats about it. No a real lot of experience raiding ulduar or Togc. This shows me you are a starting Raider. (on this character!)

Talents Frost tanking. In general not a bad spec, just a few odds and ends in there that make me think: "hmn, why?". No big issues there though. What I do not like is that you do not have a 2nd spec. I've read your explaination about this. You have to realise that to be a successfull Death Knight tank it is very much desirable to have more then 1 tank spec, as you sometimes need to tank a specific boss or a specific set of trashmobs in a certain way. Death Knight tanks are very 'specialised' tanks when it comes to specs and you need to be able to handle all the situations.
Having only 1 spec shows me that you've not yet delved into the knowledge available on the internet about DK tanking and that you could improve on that matter. Try tankspot and elitist jerks to gather more knowledge about your class.

Also your choise of glyphs puzzles me. Why Icebound fortitude? Being tank specced and having a high Def Rating pushes you over 40% when using IBF, unglyphed. Your major glyph is not usefull there. Any specific reason you did this, or am I behind in my knowledge and did they change this mechanic? Feel free to elaborate:)

Statistics: Your healthpool is simply too low for our current raiding goal. Get at least 3 to 4k more hp unbuffed.
Hitrating is very much too low. Having around 8% while using a twohander should be good enough and being a bit below it isn't that much of a problem since we can also spec for it a bit. You on the other hand have 4,30% which is way too low and you are not specced to get your extra hit rating.
Expertise is too low as well. Though you've put one gem in your gear to compensate, its just not enough.

Reputation: Well, you at least got Sons of Hodir sorted! Thats a start. Work work!

Professions: Mining and jewelcrafting: In my eyes the 'best' choises for us dk tanks. You've not finished work on this, which shows me you are either neglecting it, or have just started out sorting your professions. Both not desirable. Handle it!

Overall: You seem to be on your way to become a great DK tank. You are not there yet though. There is room for improvement conserning your knowledge of your class and general raid experience.
Also, you are 15 years of age. I mean no offence at all, as we had 15 year olds apply before, but I personally am against someone of that age joining a raidguild, simply because you need to be reliable. The whole guild depends on you to be there on time and to the end of the raid. This means staying up on raiddays untill 23.00 hours server time. Parent-aggro is imminent here as I myself had to go to bed at 21.30 hours TOPS while I was 15 and had a schoolday the next day. School > this game. Parents > this game.

My advice to the recruiter: As we stand right now we are full on Death Knights. We have a strong team. There is an overall stop on recruitment, but we are taking on exceptional good candidates. Fartherwho is not one of those yet. He needs to grow in skill, experience and knowledge to be able to compete for a good spot in EoL. Also his age of 15 years is a warning sign to me. I advice against a trial period, but I do expect to hear great things of this one in the future!

I am the Assistant Recruiter, and I will be handling your application.
As Xulgos has already mentioned this in his reply on your application, we are litterly on a recruitment stop. And yes we do give exceptional good players a possebility to get a trial if we think they cut it for us, bothing gear, skill and attitude.
You seem like a nice guy, but your age does worry me. The worry is on the fact that we wouldn't know if your parents suddenly decideds to pull your out of the raid because they think you shouldn't play that late, or things like that.

Normally we would probably consider this further, but since we are absolutly FULL on tanks no matter what class they have.... I really can't give you a trial.

Perhaps when/if we in the future arent as full on tanks, and when you've gotten a bit more experiance and better gear then we might reconsider if you are to reapply.
