re: Saruuni | 70 | Shaman

Personal Infomation:
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Nationality: Dutch

Character Information:
Name: Saruuni
Race: Draenei
Gender: Female
Class: Shaman
Level: 70
Keys: Karazhan, Shattered Halls, Auchenai Key, Reservoir Key, Key of Time.

What are your primary roles during a raid? Up until now it had been healing. Resto shamanism.

Any RP details about your character? Nothing notable. She did lose her memory due to the crash, her life begins in a closet.

Previous guilds on this server and reasons for leaving: None, I am a transfer.

How did you find us? Liesje had a recruitment macro go off on GuildRecruitment channel, I read that DPS was asked for. I could've been that too, only to find out on the site that a resto shaman was needed instead. Which I enjoyed more anyway, also provides pvp love.

Why do you want to join the Echoes of Lordaeron? After the transfer comes thoughts of what kind of new guilds are here? What could be my home? I searched on the realm forums and found nothing particularly awe-inspiring. I came from a WPvP/RP with abit of raiding guild. The guild was enormous and our events included kheeling capital city bosses. Pics to prove it :> I was only ever in one successful one I remembered to take a picture of.

The reason would be that I do search some raiding. But not on a grand scale, not necessarily frequently. And it had to be something that abided and enforced the RP laws of this server. This guild is said to have them both, which is just right.

What do you expect of us, and how will you contribute? I cannot expect anything from a guild to which I apply. And certainly not in the beginning stages of being a member. I would contribute, as is claimed (no lie) solid healge. A new face for the RP mindset and, should wpvp ever arise, a supporter.

Who can we contact for a reference? No one on this realm. You can search on Defias Brotherhood for Archimegadon. He would know me better than anyone else, be careful though, he likes to joke around alot.

Anything else you would like to add? Certainly, at the request of Liesje, I am gear-less. Reason being that, after 2 years of playing on the alliance I wanted to go horde-side. So I lost my gear and transfered the gold over with AH foolery. After realizing that the horde was just not for me, I got her back and sent her the money, but now she is walking around in SM gear. I am currently working on retrieving my gear however.

So having a look at the armory would be fruitless at this stage.

Peace be with you.

Nice, open appplication. Some questions arrise though when reading it through.

- Why did you transfer?
- why did you pick memory loss for your character background? (Yes, I'm asking this for a reason. Btw, Liesje lost her memory too, nothing wrong with memory loss as background, if you pick it for the right reasons)
- Are you sure you don't want a guild with some (w)PvP as well? We might try out BG's and Arena at some point, but this guild will never organise or participate in WPvP. Our members are free to participate in WPvP events of other guilds though.
- How are you expecting to replace your gear on short term? Do you have money to buy greens from AH to start with? We wouldn't mind helping you get blues in normal vl 70 instances, but it would help if you're at least in lvl 65-70 green gear

As I see it now, theres a good chance we'll invite you, but still, take your time to answer these questions.

Thank you for considering. I'll answer as best I can.

-I transfered because I got caught up in the game, I got entwined in personal guild issues and friendships and such that leeched from my RL life. I realized (one morning at 5AM) that I needed a change, to start over, and not make the same mistake again.

-I picked memory loss because, although I researched it, there is no lore for what the Draenei were like, where they lived, what their age can become. It's all too vague. If I believe I've evolved the story to a sense where it has really becomes Saruuni I'll keep it that way. If, eventually, proper Prior-to-crash Draenei lore is established I might make her memory loss something she'll recover from.

-The WPvP issue is no biggie, I tend to do the WPvP by myself most of the time, although recently I've taken to BGs and (before transfering) Arenas aswell. Since the Arena gives one feature that even WPvP didn't have, if you die you're screwed, which adds a sense of realism I very much enjoy.

-As time progresses and the specialist GM has let me wait an astonishing 43 hours I took to grinding DM in the nude, after gathering stuff there I went to SM and now ZF, I have the money for buying my gear back, and all the excess money I earn goes into high level greens. I don't have that many as yet but I am working on it. I sent a letter to WoWconcerns on the EU site and they replied telling me there is nothing they can do although they are trying and that I simply have to be patient.

I hope this clarifies things.

All good solid reasons. I actually prefer people to be vague (in one reason or another) about their backgrounds instead of them obviously making misstakes concerning the lore.

About your gear, I don't think you can get it all back. With the best of luck, they might give you back one item. In the meantime, I think it's best if you get some high level greens on and start doing lvl 70 instances with us.

You're accepted into the guild as Initiate.

Initiate

The initiate’s have the lowest rank in the guild. That does not mean however that it is a rank that is looked down upon, quite the opposite. The initiate’s serves the guild in many important ways and they are the very backbone of the forces of Echoes of Lordaeron. When a member is recruited he or she is given this rank. If he then shows his dedication and good will before the guild and his overseers and follow the guild rules, he will be accepted into the guild as a full member. The Initiate’s rank therefore is a trial period which spans over two weeks. During this time the Initiate will not receive any loot from raiding (unless no one else wants it).

In your case I don't think you will get to raid the first week anyway. We do have some gear and stats requirements.

Please whisper me or Silaz in game after reading this reply.
