re: EoL: Casual or Hardcore?

0
Last couple of days I'm seeing people assuming/saying that EoL is one of the above. Myself I always claim that EoL is casual. How about if we simply check it? Let's come up with characteristics for a Casual guild and characteristics for a Hardcore guild and then see where we end up?
We put a red X in front of characteristics that doesn't fit EoL and a green V for characteristics that do fit us.

I'll start with a characteristic of a hardcore guild:
X [Hardcore] Minimum raid attendance of 4 raids or 50%

And one of a casual guild:
V [Casual] Allowing people to raid on Alt characters

Please add more and I'll update the list as we go

============================================

Characteristics we have:
V [Hardcore] Progressing so imba fast
V [Hardcore] Having silence on ventrillo to often (casuals should be able to chitchat all the time? )
V [Casual] Not using DKP like all other hardcore guilds.
V [Casual] Having members that spend time on the RP aspects of the game aswell.
V [Casual] Having ze imba cheerleader ranks!
V [Casual] Having a pinkhaired gnome as guildleader (<- do not take this point serious)
V [Casual] Allowing people to raid on Alt characters

Characteristics we don't have:
X [Hardcore] Minimum raid attendance of 4 raids or 50%

I think you misunderstood
You put [Casual] or [Hardcore] in frotn to state whether it is a hardcore or casual characteristic and then you put
V or X up front to state whether that characteristic fits us or not.

for instance:
X[Casual] Bunch of italian friends learning Karahzan and baking Pizza (no offence to the italian people)

V [Hardcore] Not showing up for raids you did sign for can result in penaltys and eventually guildkick

X [Hardcore] We dont have peebottles!

X Having a pedantic GM who wants the replies to a thread *just so* despite it being very clear what was meant.
X Having an equally pedantic Nethara who gets huffy about her epic gem requests in a similar way.

<3 to you both.

To be honost, I would like hardcore.
Still longing for it.
The mindset of the achivement and considering a wipe purely as a tool for improvement.
But this is a casual guild, and it's good as it is.
It allows for all to be just here and have fun with what we are doing.

Q.

I think we're hardcore with a casual attitude, or even just a nice hardcore guild wich is pretty hard to find.

cheerleaders aint only in casual guilds i tihnk CC even has such ranks.

We raid hardcore but we act casual in signups and treating people. a lovely mix wich imo can be a bit more hardcore but is nice

Well theres characteristics of both, but proberly pointint to the casual more. To an outsider its a hardcore,
base that on the 'We raid 6days a week' They dont care if you rotate members, they see 6 days and think O-M-G

[casual] Expected 2days a week to raid.
[casual] Very kind and understanding on RL things, letting people not raid, keeping them in guild, changeing raid set-ups.
[casual] Read the raid chat, thats a casual guild chat - to be honest.
[casual] Can run into Gruul on a 'who can get closer' competition, ninja pull it and everyone laugh about it.

[hardcore] Penalties on not attending, not showing up. *
[hardcore] No talking on vent. *
[hardcore] Denying people on gear checks, 'bad blood' *

* these 3 hardcore points, cant think of too much more, but ive never really been in a hardcore guild. Im sure theres more points that outsiders would think is hardcore. But these 3 should NEVER change, you want to be casual, but you also want progression. I think you are hitting a good medium here.

Personaly we are between casual and hardcore, I can say we are full casual, but we are definatly not hardcore. I like it the way it is.

ohh and [hardcore] GM likes getting spanked

If I see a guild raiding 8 days a week I would go O-M-G as well wink
